After breakfast at your hotel, you'll have a whole day to explore the most attractive place of Bogotá. One of the "must see" places in here is the mountain of Monserrate and its church, with an astonishing view over the city (10,341 ft above the sea level). After this visit, continue exploring La Candelaria, the heart of the historical center and first neighborhood of the city. This is a lovely historic quarter full of churches, renowned museums, and cafés. Lunch not included. Grab a traditional lunch featuring some regional specialties. In the afternoon, visit the Gold Museum (closed on Mondays) to see the world's largest collection of pre-Columbian gold objects. Next stop is the Botero Museum (closed on Tuesday) where, paintings and sculptures of Colombia's most celebrated artist are exhibited with a private collection of Picasso and Braque. Today will be one of the highlights of your Colombian adventure. After breakfast, you will be picked up on the direction to Cocora Valley With your guide, you'll have a walking beside the Quindío River through cloud forest with grand wax palms of 230 feet (70 m) tall. The wax palm was qualified by the Alexander Von Humboldt Institute as “endangered” as well as the yellow-eared parrots that use those palms to construct their nests. Lunch not included. Grab a traditional lunch, tasting some of the regional specialties, before visiting the nearby villages of Salento and Finlandia. They're known for their colorful houses and squares surrounded by terraces of cafés. In the late afternoon, make your way back to your hotel to spend the evening. Diner not included. After breakfast, you will be picked up at your hotel to Quimbaya. Once in Quimbaya, take a short 4x4 trip to the nearby pier of La Vieja River. Then, raft down the river on an 18 km course, which reveals its secrets as you progress. After finishing this relaxing trip, there'll be a traditional lunch of sliced meats wrapped in banana leaves waiting for you. In the afternoon, continue your visit to Finca Casa Vieja. Here, you'll join a specialized tour with a local guide through the coffee plantations to learn all about the production and harvesting process. During the last twenty years, Medellín went through some drastic changes. Explore the famous Botero Plaza with an exhibition of the Colombian artist Fernando Botero, whose sculptures have become a landmark of the city. Take the Metro Cable up to Santo Domingo, which was once a notorious area of gang violence in Medellín. Breakfast at your hotel. Your day trip will combine a visit of the flower village Santa Elena and a tour to the famous Peñol Rock in Guatapé. Start the day in the small village of Santa Elena, which is located high up in the mountains of Antioquia less than an hour outside of Medellín. Visit the area where the well-known floral arrangements have become a famous symbol of Medellín. Travel through the green hills to the Peñol Rock in Guatapé, known as one of the most spectacular destinations in the surrounding area of Medellín and climb the 220 m high monolith with a staircase of 740 steps. Enjoy the local food and breathtaking views of the stunning surroundings full of green mountains and blue lakes. Guatapé is famous for its colorful paintings decorating the houses of the village. Today, don’t worry about taking breakfast at your hotel because you’ll start your day with an exploration throught the main gastronomic point of Cartargena: Bazurot Market! Here you'll explore the Gastronomy from the city, with different secret points between fruit stands, vegetables, herbs and spices, milk products, fishes, seafood, and traditional kitchen equipment. Then head to Ohlala Bistrot, a restaurant that will be waiting for you with a traditional breakfast (Arepas de Huevo) or other options. Then, using the ingredients bought earlier, you'll take a cooking class! Discover the exotic, rich flavors that comprise Caribbean cuisine. The class culminates with an epic lunch where you'll get to enjoy all the delectable dishes you've prepared. During the afternoon, explore two spots that really provide insight into the city's past: La Popa Monastery and San Felipe Castle. Both were strategic sites used to defend Cartagena against pirates and the conquistadors of colonial times. San Felipe was built in 1536 to protect the bay and is a masterpiece of military architecture. La Popa sits at a high point in Cartagena, and the views from the monastery are as fabulous as you'd expect — all the way out to the Boca Grande neighborhood and its glittering skyscrapers.
