Full day tour of Mumbai City (Mumbai)

Begin your exploration of Mumbai with a visit to the Gateway of India built in 1924 by the British Raj to welcome King George V and Queen Mary visit.  Then travel the nine nautical miles to the rock cut temples dedicated to Shiva on Gharapuri, better known as Elephanta Island.  Return to Mumbai to Kamala Nehru Park and Mani Bhavan, where Mahatma Gandhi once stayed.  After lunch continue to Mumbai’s ‘Dirties’ with a visit to Dohi Ghat where the city’s laundry is bashed, scrubbed, dyed and hung out to dry.  Continue on your drive around the sites seeing Marine drive, Chowpatty beach, the beautiful British Heritage Bombay High Court and the famous Victoria Terminus Train Station, officially renamed Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) in 1998.  Finish your tour with a visit to the adjacent Crawford Market, the largest in Mumbai.  Return to your hotel along Dadabhai Naoroji Road passing the intricate Flora Fountain built in 1864.
