Azerbaijan, the nation and former Soviet republic, is bounded by the Caspian Sea and Caucasus Mountains, which span Asia and Europe. Its capital, Baku, is famed for its medieval walled Inner City. Within the Inner City lies the Palace of the Shirvanshahs, a royal retreat dating to the 15th century, and the centuries-old stone Maiden Tower, which dominates the city skyline.

Visit Icheri Sheher (Old City, UNESCO site). The “Baku Acropolis”, “Old Town”, “Inner Town” – these are the names for this unique historical ensemble located right in the center of Baku. “Icheri Sheher” is the heart of the city. It was the place, on the hill by the very sea, where ancient Baku was originated. The territory of Icheri Sheher was inhabited with people as early as in the Bronze Age and by the VIII-XI centuries it had been completely populated.
Visiting Maiden tower (IX century), Shirvanshakhs Palace (XV century), Karvansarai Multani and Bukhara (XV century), places where Soviet movie “Brilliant hand” was filmed, Amphibian Man, Tehran 43 and so on.
Visiting Shirvanshah’s Palace. Shirvan Dynasty Palace Complex is a jewel in the crown of Azerbaijani architecture. It was erected there in the XV century.

Visiting Ateshgah. "Fire Temple of Baku" is a castle-like religious temple based on Persian and Indian inscriptions, the Zoroastrian place of worship. Although the site was originally a place of worship for Zoroastrians, the fortified complex you see today was built by XVIII-century Indian Shiva devotees.
Proceed with visiting Yanar Dag (Burning Mountain). Burning Mountain is considered as “eternal fire” and fulfills the trip with unique and interesting experience. In the XIII century Marco Polo mentioned numerous natural-gas flames spurting spontaneously from the Absheron Peninsula.
