Our first stop of the day is small town of Konjic. Konjic was never quite fully Herzegovinian, nor quite fully Bosnian city, but rather a mixture of the two. It was the site of crossroads for different cultures, traditions and religions. We will take a walk through the old town, as well as the city center, which provides you with amazing sceneries of the surrounding countryside. Continue to Blagaj, a small town, nominated for UNESCO World Heritage list, well known for its location at a spring of Buna river and mystical Dervish Monastery. This 600 years old Sufi monastery, referred to as, is uniquely perched on 200 metres high cliff that hugs the entire area. Constructed in the classical Baroque style with elements of Ottoman and Mediterranean architecture, the Tekke is one of a kind in the whole country. Last destination of the day is Mostar – a city of »stone on stone«. Mostar is a city of contrasts, wide roads, narrow streets, the traditional old bazaar, and a contemporary center. Next to modern edifices there rise the towers of churches and the minarets of mosques. The most magnificent stone monument of Mostar is without a doubt the Old Bridge (Stari Most), listed on UNESCO World Heritage list. Accommodation at hotel in Mostar and overnight.
Today we discover Hercegovina, home of mixed cultures, many natural wonders and rivers rich with water. Medieval fortress village of Počitelj was built on a rocky cliff sloping steeply down to the bank of the river Neretva. We take a walk through the old bazaar and admire city's historical buildings, which make the village one of the most picture-perfect architectural ensembles in the country. Next stop is Hutovo Blato Nature Park and bird reserve, a unique sub-Mediterranean swamp with plenty of water, home for hundreds of plant and animal species. Enjoy a private boat ride and admire this unique environment. We continue to Kravice Waterfalls*, an area full of greenery with chaste trees, poplars and figs all around. Return to Mostar for overnight
Today we journey across the country, from Mostar to Bihać, located in the north-western part of Bosnia and Hercegovina. Upon arrival, orientational Bihać sightseeing and accommodation at selected hotel. Balance of the day at leisure and overnight.
Drive along the Una river valley and discover Una National Park, where the diversity of flora and fauna are present alongside of 15 fortresses. Before entering its first major canyon, river Una gushes down the beautiful Strbacki buk, a 24m high and 40 m long waterfall, one of National Park's greatest attractions. Free time to walk around the park and admire the serene nature. Return to Bihać for overnight.
On our way back to Sarajevo, we visit royal town of Jajce, a town known as town made of stone, light and water. Jajce is an open-air museum, built on two rivers – Una and Vrbas. We will walk up to the castle to learn about the town's history, then follow the walls and fortified gates until we reach Jajce's most famous landmark, a 17m high waterfall, located just below the old town. We continue our journey to Travnik, an old trading town and military strongpoint during the Ottoman rule. We will visit the Old Fortress, offering a breath taking view over the town. Before returning to Sarajevo, we'll make a stop at Blue Water springs.
Breakfast at hotel. Sarajevo sightseeing with local guide. Variety of cultures and religions, as well as three contrasting components of the town from former times are the reason to visit Sarajevo. Bascarsija as the most important part of Sarajevo city has a lot to offer.
First, we start with Bascarsija square itself, famous fountain called Sebilj and a whole story behind. Later we move on towards Kazandziluk street (Coppersmith's street), burned library - Vijecnica, and thorough explanation regarding the two distanced fortresses, Yellow and White bastion. We keep our way and learn about few bridges, including Seher-Cehaja and Latin bridge. Latin Bridge is World famous due to one unfortunate event that took place there, the assassination of Franz Ferdinand. We will than continue walking and see Imperial mosque, Gazi Husref Bey’s mosque, Clock tower and few other spots around are places we do not miss. In afternoon we drive to Vrelo Bosne. Vrelo Bosne is a spring of the river of the same name and it is one of the most famous landmarks in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Vrelo Bosne is located on the outskirts of Sarajevo, near Ilidza, below the slopes of mountains Igman and Bjelasnica. The spring of this river is certainly one of the most famous scenes of natural beauty in the region. It consists of several small islands, connected with bridges over numerous small streams. Return to hotel and overnight.
