UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004. In the afternoon travel to Hamburg.
Free day at your leisure to explore Hamburg. Although 100 km from the ocean, Hamburg owes its fame to its world renowned port. Hamburg has
more bridges than Venice and features many lovely attractions, such as the Michel Church (the city’s symbol) and the Jungfernstieg and City Hall.
Travel from Hamburg to Lübeck. This city with its lovely old houses was once one of the most important centers of the Hanseatic League and was
declared a UNESCO world heritage site in 1987. Continue to Schwerin, famous for its castle that stands on an island in the center of town.
Visit the Schwerin Castle and then continue to Berlin, the capital of Germany. A divided city during the Cold War, Berlin is now one of the most important cultural centers in Europe and boasts exquisite museums, such as the Pergamon, and fascinating architecture, such as Potsdam Square.
In the morning visit some of the many attractions of Berlin, including the Brandenburg Gate, the Island of Museums (a UNESCO Site) and the German Parliament building. In the afternoon enjoy a pleasant river cruise on the Spree (approx. 1 hour) and some free time.
Visit Potsdam and the Sanssouci Palace (UNESCO). The former residence of the Prussian kings is a lovely city filled with palaces and gardens. Next travel to Weimar, the home town of famous personalities such as Goethe, Schiller, Bach and Liszt
Sightseeing tour of Weimar. The cradle of the Bauhaus movement and the 1999 European Cultural Capital, Weimar features an amazing collection of
classic architecture. In the afternoon continue to Bamberg, located in northern Bavaria. The town is famous for its beer and features a lovely old city center (UNESCO).
In the morning briefly pass through Nuremberg, a metropolis that has preserved much of its medieval charm. Our final destination today is Munich, the capital of the state of Bavaria. Munich is known around the
world for its Oktoberfest, the largest beer festival in the world, the Bayern München football team and the BMW cars that are manufactured here.
In the morning visit the city’s best known attractions, such as the Marienplatz square with the elegant city hall, the bustling Viktualienmarkt with delicious gourmet products and the Hofbräuhaus brewery. In the afternoon you are free to explore this friendly city at your leisure and relax in a beer garden with a glass of outstanding local beer.
On the way to Füssen visit Oberammergau, a picturesque town known for its Passion play,impressive crafts and the lovely Wieskirche church, a UNESCO Heritage monument and an important pilgrimage destination in Bavaria.
In the morning visit Neuschwanstein Castle, built by Ludwig II. Today, Neuschwanstein is one of the most famous and most visited attractions in southern Germany. Continue via the beautiful region around Allgäu to Lake Constance, which forms the border between Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
In the morning travel via the high road through the Black Forest and enjoy magnificent views of forest and canyons on the way to Baden-Baden, the
former residence of Europe’s nobility. Enjoy a sightseeing tour of this elegant spa resort and then continue to Heidelberg
After a visit to the Heidelberg Castle and the historic center, conclude the tour at Frankfurt airport.
