Visit: Short stay of Florence & Tuscany From Rome
Transfer on your own to the railway station and catch your train to Florence. Upon arrival transfer on your own to hotel. Reach the meeting point. The first part of the tour is an enlightening walking with a local guide who will unveil you the Cradle of the Renaissance. You will discover the stunning Santa Croce Basilica (outside), one of the best achievements of Italian Gothic style and the final resting place of Italian artists as Michelangelo, Galileo Galilei and Niccolò Machiavelli. You will also see The Old Bridge, one of the symbols of Florence, then reach Signoria Square to admire the Palazzo Vecchio and the famous Loggia de' Lanzi, a real open hair museum. The tour finishes inside Uffizi Gallery, where you can admire the masterpieces of the great Italian artists, such as Botticelli's Birth of Venus, Leonardo's Annunciation, to name a few. You can remain in the Uffizi Gallery until closing time. Overnight at hotel.
Breakfast at hotel, then reach the meeting point. Today you’ll enjoy a full day regular tour of Chianti. Crossing the beautiful Chianti hills, you’ll arrive at the Medieval hilltop town of Monteriggioni. Continuation to Siena, famous for its splendid Gothic architecture and the traditional Palio horse race. Your guide will make you discover Piazza del Campo. Visit Piazza del Duomo and be impressed by the imposing Cathedral, one of the finest achievements of Italian Gothic. A light lunch will be served at a local restaurant where, together with genuine Tuscan products, you will savour traditional pastries. Next, you’ll drive to San Gimignano, famous its Vernaccia, world renowned white wine, and its skyscrapers, also declared a World heritage Site by UNESCO. The visit is free for independent sightseeing. At the end of the day you will move deeper into Chianti area, with its picture-postcard landscapes. You have the chance to taste the best Chianti red wine in a rustic wine estate along with home-made snacks and sampling of wines and oil. Return to Florence. The tour ends near Railway Station.
