From Venice to Rome by Rail

Upon arrival at Venice airport, meet & great and transfer to your hotel. Time at leisure. Overnight at hotel.
Breakfast at hotel. Spend two leisurely days enjoying the cultural and artistic point of historical interest. Make the most of your 2 days Vaporetto. Take an optional half-day excursion to Venice islands. Departure from Serenissima boat station in S.Marco square and after sailing past the island of San Giorgio Maggiore, the Public Gardens, the tip of Sant’Elena and the Lido famous beach resort, the boat arrives at Murano, known throughout the world for its glass manufacturing industry. Here you have 40 minutes for a visit to one of the factories and discover the magic of glass. The second stop will be at the picturesque island of Burano, famous not only for its lace, but also for the fishermen’s houses painted in bright colours. The stop will last about 30 minutes. After a short sail, you’ll reach Torcello, the earliest center of civilization in the lagoon. Only the cathedral with its magnificent mosaics and the church of Santa Fosca remains as testimony of its former glory. This stop lasts about 30 minutes. Then the boat will make its way back to St. Mark’s Square. Rest of the day free at leisure. Overnight. (B)
Breakfast at hotel. Transfer on your own to the railway station to catch your train to Florence. Upon arrival transfer on your own to hotel. Reach the meeting point. With an expert guide you will enjoy a walk through the most fascinating and interesting places of Florence: Repubblica Square, the Cathedral with Brunelleschi’s Dome, (exterior) the Baptistery with its famous Gates of Paradise, Signoria Square with its Palazzo Vecchio and Loggia dei Lanzi. Few minutes to take last pictures and you will meet the guide to enter the Uffizi Gallery (Monday closed) to visit its famous and beautiful collections of Italian Renaissance paintings. The tour will finish enjoying a beautiful view of Florence, from Uffizi terrace. It is possible to remain into the museum until closing time. Overnight at hotel. (B)
Breakfast at hotel. Spend two leisurely days in this unique city. Take an optional (€) full-day tour driving south from Florence and crossing the beautiful Hills of Chianti. Breakfast at hotel, then reach the meeting point. You will first reach San Gimignano, a picturesque, fascinating medieval town declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and famous for its white wine, the world renowned “Vernaccia”. The visit is free for independent sightseeing. You will have time to wind your way through the narrow streets and to admire the relaxing landscape surrounding the village. Your day will continue to Siena, a medieval town with the suggestive Piazza del Campo famous for the Palio race. You will continue on the direction of the Duomo (outside), one of the most fascinating Italian churches in Gothic style. In the afternoon, the tour will move to the Chianti area with its impressive picture-postcard landscape and, at a famous wine estate, you will taste the best “Chianti” red wine along with home-made snacks. The tour will end in Florence city centre (railway station area). Back to hotel on your own and overnight. (B)

After breakfast Enjoy your 48 h Hop on Hop off ticket. Spend two leisurely days enjoying the cultural and artistic point of historical interest in the Eternal City. Following along with the maps that you will receive from the staff on board, during the trip you will listen to audio commentaries that explain the sights and monuments at each stop. You can photograph the most beautiful panoramas of Rome all while comfortably seated aboard the double decker open bus. The staff will be at your disposal for any need. Overnight at hotel (B)
