Arrival in Svolvær, the starting point of the self-drive journey. After collecting the rental car, drive to a centrally located 3-star hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure. Accommodation in Svolvær.

After breakfast, drive to the Lofotr Viking Museum in Borg. Visit the world’s longest reconstructed longhouse and experience life as it was over 1,000 years ago. Explore the feast hall, barn, and interactive exhibitions, all set against the dramatic backdrop of the Lofoten Islands. Accommodation in Svolvær.

Breakfast at the hotel. Today, a scenic drive through the Lofoten archipelago leads to the village of Reine. Overnight in a traditional Norwegian rorbu by the water. Accommodation in Reine.

After breakfast, board the ferry to Bodø. Continue south by car to Yttervik, located near Mo i Rana. Spend the night in a cosy cabin with a kitchenette and a view over the Ranfjord. Optional visits to the Marmor Slottet or the science centre in Mo i Rana. Accommodation in Yttervik.

Prepare breakfast in the cabin before continuing the drive south through national parks, rivers, and fjords towards Trondheim, Norway’s third-largest city. Accommodation in a 3-star hotel in Trondheim for two nights.

After breakfast, visit Nidaros Cathedral, the world’s northernmost medieval cathedral, and explore the Archbishop’s Palace, home to Norway’s royal regalia. Entry to both is included. The remainder of the day is at leisure. Accommodation in Trondheim.

After breakfast, drive along the western coastline to the beautiful city of Ålesund, known for its Art Nouveau architecture. Accommodation in a 3-star hotel in Ålesund.

Breakfast at the hotel before continuing the journey to Geiranger. Board the car ferry through the UNESCO-protected Geirangerfjord to Hellesylt. From there, continue to Fosnavåg, a coastal town surrounded by fjords. Accommodation in a 3-star hotel in Fosnavåg.

After breakfast, drive to Nordfjordeid and visit the Sagastad Viking Centre, home to the reconstructed Myklebust ship – one of the largest Viking ships ever found in Norway. Return to Fosnavåg for the night. Accommodation in Fosnavåg.

After breakfast, begin the scenic drive towards the fjord village of Balestrand, passing the Jostedalsbreen National Park along the way. Accommodation in a 4-star hotel in Balestrand.

After breakfast, board the car ferry across the Sognefjord to Gudvangen. Visit Viking Valley, where Viking life is brought to life by modern-day practitioners. In the evening, enjoy a 5-course Viking plank dinner in Flåm before heading to Aurland. Accommodation in a 3-star hotel in Aurland.

After breakfast, drive to Oslo, the capital of Norway. The remainder of the day is at leisure. Optional visits include the Opera House rooftop, Holmenkollen, or the Viking Ship Museum. Accommodation in a centrally located 3-star hotel in Oslo.
