The Scandinavian Capitals and Norway’s Fjords

Arrival in Norway’s second-largest city, surrounded by seven mountains and seven fjords. Two nights of accommodation are provided at a centrally located hotel.
Day at leisure to explore Bergen, often referred to as the Gateway to the Fjords. Highlights include the Hanseatic Bryggen Wharf, Fløibanen Funicular, the composer Edvard Grieg’s home (Troldhaugen), the Fish Market, Bergen Aquarium, and Gamle Bergen (Old Bergen Open Air Museum). For a more active option, a sightseeing tour by Segway can be arranged.
Travel begins by train from Bergen to Voss. The journey continues by bus via Stalheimskleiva with its 13 hairpin bends, and through the Nærøyfjord Valley to Gudvangen. From there, a fjord cruise across the UNESCO-listed Aurlandsfjord and Nærøyfjord leads to Flåm. The afternoon can be spent discovering Flåm and its surroundings—hiking, bike rental, and kayaking are available. One night’s accommodation is provided in a hotel in the town centre.
Board the famous Flåm Railway, which climbs through dramatic scenery to Myrdal (900 metres above sea level). In Myrdal, transfer to the Bergen Railway for a scenic five-hour train ride to Oslo. Two nights’ accommodation are arranged in the city centre.
Day at leisure in Oslo. The capital, located at the head of the Oslofjord and surrounded by forested hills, offers numerous sights including the Opera House, Vigeland Sculpture Park, and the Munch Museum. A guided bike tour is a popular way to experience the city.
A morning at leisure in Oslo before boarding the overnight ferry to Copenhagen in the afternoon. Accommodation is in a 2-berth private outside cabin aboard DFDS Seaways.

Day at leisure. A walking tour focused on the Danish concept of Hygge is highly recommended for those interested in local culture.
Travel by train to Stockholm. The Swedish capital is built across 14 islands and offers a mix of medieval charm and modern innovation. Nearby, an archipelago of 24,000 islands is waiting to be explored. Recommended sights include the Vasa Museum, Skansen Open Air Museum, Stockholm City Hall, and Gamla Stan (the Old Town). Two nights of accommodation are arranged in the city centre.
