After breakfast at the hotel. Today, as part of our responsible tourism philosophy we will start our tour visiting the souks of Marrakech but with a special emphasis on the charity work done to help those in difficult social situations.From our riad we will be driven to one of the historical gates of the old city for a walk through the streets of Laksour quarter leading to the Souks. We will visit the women's center Al Kaoutar which helps those without any resources and inextreme poverty to learn a job and therefore earn a living. Here they learn and make high quality products andembroidery such as hand-embroidered table linens, pillow cases, pyjamas, children’s clothing, towels and napkins atperfectly reasonable fixed prices and all made in a nonprofit vocational training center. The center has also a day carefacility for disabled women and their children. From here we will leave the Medina and drive to the modern part ofMarrakech to visit the Amal Association, which is an organization that helps underprivileged single mothersovercome poverty and social stigma by providing them with counseling, and vocational training to becomeprofessional cooks and pastry makers. Many of them who used to beg and live on the streets now work in some of themany Riads in Marrakech. After visiting the center, lunch is cooked by the ladies of the association. After lunch we will be invited to a demonstration of Moroccan pastry making.In the afternoon we will discover an exciting blend of modern architecture and an ancient walled medina. We will firststand by the Koutoubia Mosque with its 77m minaret, an architectural landmark dating back to the late 12th century. Wewill visit the Badii palace built in the 16th century. Here we will admire the marvelous pulpit of the Koutoubia mosquemade in 1137 in the city of Cordoba by the best cabinet making artisans of that time. We will continue to the 19thcentury Bahia palace and discover the intricate work done by the local artisans to decorate this splendid home built bya powerful Vizir for his Harem. We will end our exploration with a stroll inside the Jewish quarter and visit the historical synagogue, SLAT LAAZAMA, built in 1492 by Sephardic Jews expelled from Spain. .
After breakfast, Today we will spend the day mingling and getting to know the Atlas mountains’ locals. The round-trip through lush Ourika Valley and dramatic Atlas landscapes by luxurious SUV will be your only nonBerber experience on this eye-opening, hands-on adventure. Bake bread and prepare tagine in the kitchen of a village family and get to know them better over a pot oftraditional mint tea – made by you! The conversation should also start to flow, with a little help from your guide! While lunch is simmering, get your hands stuck into wet clay in a ceramics workshop. Later, try your hand atweaving a colourful kilim with the local women behind their prized ancestral looms, and walk the farmterraces to see the sweated labour that goes into ancient irrigation and subsistence farming methods.
After breakfast we will drive during 03 Hours To reach Casablanca.
We will start the visit from the port and the old city area where you will visit the impressive Hassan II mosque todiscover one of the most interesting architectural achievements in modern Morocco before you are taken toexplore some of the main streets down town that date back to the French protectorate. The buildings hereare made in the art-deco style, built and designed back in 1920’s.Visit Le “Marché Central”, the French food and flower market, before you stop on Mohamed V square, one of
the main squares of Casablanca, to admire the neo-Moorish style architecture of several official buildings suchas the town hall and the court of justice built in 1930’s.Visit the largest church in Casablanca, “Notre Dame De Lourdes”, where you will discover one of the mostimpressive works in stained glass accomplished by a French artist in the mid 1950’s.
In the Late afternoon continue our drive to Rabat Overnight stay
After breakfast we start our tour of Rabat which is an elegant city as it has been serving as the capital of Morocco and the official residence of the kingsince the early 20th century. Yet this capital maintains a traditional Moroccan character like all the historical cities of the country. Our morning tour begins with the fortified Kasbah Oudaya including the 17th centuryroyal residence and its Andalusia style garden. Mohamed V Mausoleum, a masterpiece of the Moroccan artand craft next to which stands the medieval Hassan Tower built in the late 12th century. We leave Rabat andhead inland to the city of Meknes which served as the capital of Morocco in the 17th century for the SultanMoulay Ismail. This king had a reputation of a ruthless warrior but he was also a builder as during his 55-year reign, he developed Meknes from a small town into a majestic capital with gigantic ramparts, monumental gates, palaces and more than 15 miles of exterior walls. Our tour leader will take us for a comprehensive tour of
the city’s highlights such as the impressive granaries and stables built by the Sultan for his cavalry, theMausoleum of the King located inside a beautifully built mosque, the monumental gate of Bab El Mansour
dominating El Hedim square and the colorful food market.
In the afternoon we will go for a drive across a beautiful countryside to the archaeological site of Volubilis, thelargest of the Roman colonies established in Morocco between the 1st and the 2nd centuries AD. We will beguided through this World Heritage site of which the excavated ruins are particularly noted for their amazingcolorful mosaics and remains of Roman monuments such as the Basilica, the Temple and the Arch of Triumph.
At the end of the afternoon we will drive to the city of Fez to check into our hotel. Overnight Stay.
After breakfast Fes is the oldest royal city in Morocco. Founded in the 9th century, it is said to be the most complete medieval city of the Arab world as it has preserved all its medieval aspects and way of life. Fez will stimulate all our senses as we go for a guided tour inside Fes el Bali (old Fes), across food and spice markets, handicraft quarters, auction squares and colorful stores. We will see the local communal bakeries and have a look intochildren’s pre-schools, enter artisan workshops and discover the secrets of their ancestral arts, walk by manyhistorical fountains, mosques and sanctuaries. We will also see the traditional weavers and the famoustanneries. We will stop for a break in the Museum Nejjarine specialized in the art of woodwork and cabinetmaking. We will go inside the 14th century Medersa (theological school) to admire its intricate architectureand will see from outside the University of al-Qarawiyyin which is the oldest university in history founded in 857.In the afternoon we will visit the royal palace built in the late 19th century as a Summer residence for the kingHassan; inside we will see the central four parts garden and the museum of Fez traditional arts established herein 1915. From there we will continue to Fez El Jedid (new Fez) to discover what used to be the largest Jewishquarter in Morocco dating back to the time of the migration of the Jews from Spain in the late 15th century.
We will take a walk inside this quarter to see the 17th century synagogues. Overnight stay
