Garden Route, Safari & Winelands Wonder (Thursday departures) 6 days
Visit: Cape Town - Oudtshoorn - Knysna - Albertinia - Hermanus - Cape Town
We depart Cape Town early and head east through Du Toit’s Kloof Pass to Worcester.
Stop at the viewpoint on the pass.
Continue on the journey through Worcester.
Arrive in Worcester and take the turn off to Robertson. Travel through farmlands and continue to Montagu.
Arrive in Montagu for a comfort stop.
Depart Montagu for Ladismith via Barrydale.
Community visit to farm school (if open) in Barrydale area.
Continue to Ladismith for lunch (optional & for own account).
Depart Ladismith and travel towards Oudtshoorn.
Arrive in Oudtshoorn - Capital of the Little Karoo and Ostrich capital of South Africa.
Arrive at your guest house for dinner and overnight stay. Dinner included
After breakfast, proceed to the Cango Caves.
Arrive at Cango Caves for a tour.
Standard Tour of the Cango Caves.
Proceed to an Ostrich Farm for a tour & light lunch.
Lunch at an Ostrich Farm.
After lunch continue to George, ravelling via the Outeniqua pass.
Time/weather permitting stop at lookout point on top of Pass
Drive through the town of George and arrive at Kaaimans Bridge for a photo stop (weather & time permitting).
Continue to Knysna.
Arrive in Knysna. Afternoon at leisure.
Overnight in Knysna.
Breakfast and Lunch included
After breakfast, we depart for the Knysna Waterfront.
Board the ferry taking you to the Featherbed Nature Reserve (weather permitting). Arrive at the reserve. Enjoy a trailer ride to the top of the Western Head and, a brisk walk back through the Milkwood trees. (It’s advisable to have good walking shoes for this)
Arrive back at the restaurant for lunch (included).
After lunch cruise back to Knysna. There is time to see Knysna at leisure - perhaps take a walk around the town.
Depart the town centre and head towards your hotel/guesthouse for your overnight stay. Breakfast and Lunch included
After a leisurely breakfast, depart for Mossel Bay.
Visit the Diaz museum, Post Tree and enjoy refreshments (all optional and for own account) at Gannet.
Depart Mossel Bay for Albertinia.
Check in at game lodge and freshen up before joining an afternoon open vehicle game drive.
Join an open vehicle game drive with a sun downer stop.
Return to the lodge for dinner.
Overnight and dinner at lodge. Breakfast and Dinner included
Join a morning open vehicle game drive.
Return to the lodge for breakfast.
Guided tour of a reptile centre.
Depart Mossel Bay for Swellendam.
Arrive in Swellendam for a quick stop.
Proceed to Hermanus - popular as a week-end away and retirement town, it has grown into a popular seaside resort for local and international visitors and is even more popular during the whale season - July to October.
Arrive in Hermanus for dinner and overnight. Breakfast and Dinner included
After breakfast depart Hermanus and travel to Franschhoek via Villiersdorp.
Stop for lunch (for own account) & a wine tasting (included) in the Franschhoek area.
Afterwards continue your journey to Cape Town where tour ends on arrival in the late afternoon. Breakfast included
