Itinerary
You will be met by a representative and transferred to your hotel. Check in, dinner and HOTEL FOURSEASONS OR MÖVENPICK GAMMARTH OR THE RESIDENCE TUNIS OR SHERATON TUNIS OR DAR EL JELD GUEST HOUSE OR DAR SAID BOUTIQUE HOTEL.
Morning breakfast. Visit the Bardo Museum and then the ancient Medina of Tunis with its bustling markets. LUNCH in TOP CLASS restaurant in Tunis city or elsewhere. Then continue to visit Carthage, with its Roman villa and ancient baths. Time to stroll through the charming Moorish village of Sidi Bou Said. Dinner & overnight at HOTEL OF STAY IN TUNIS.
Depart for Kairouan, where you visit the Grand Mosque and Berber Mausoleum. Lunch in a good restaurant or hotel in Kairoun. After lunch, we travel to Tozeur, with its 250-acre palm grove that produces some of the finest dates in Tunisia. Visit the Medina of TOZEUR and the Ecomuseum “EDEN PALM”, an ancient palm grove where opportunity to visit the workshop of handcrafts and a boutique of pastries to taste cake made with dates of the region. Check in, dinner, and overnight in HOTEL ANANTARA TOZEUR, OR DIAR ABOU HABIBI GUEST HOUSE, OR DAR TOZEUR GUEST HOUSE, OR DRA SEYDA BAYA GUEST HOUSE.
Breakfast. Visit Oases Mountains: the waterfalls in TAMERZA and canyons in CHEBIKA & MIDES. Depart to discover Tozeur, which has an abundant natural water supply that made it a richly inhabited oasis. A tour is followed by lunch at the Hotel in Tozeur. Then depart and cross the Chott El Jerid Salt Lake. Depart to Douz, known as the “Gateway to the Sahara”. Check in at Hotel SAHARA DOUZ or THE RESIDENCE DOUZ (for those who are interested, this night could be in a camp in TIMBAINE raea with transfer by Jeeps (SAHARANSKY CAMP or TINIRI CAMP or MARS CAMP). Afternoon, visit DOUZ. A highlight of the day is a camel ride at sunset (optional). Back to the hotel, dinner, and overnight in Hotel IN Douz.
Morning breakfast. Departure to visit the oasis of KSAR GHILANE. Then, Departure to Matmata, visit the site of several scenes from the Star Wars film. Here are the fascinating underground dwellings of the Berber Troglodytes. Visit a typical local home and meet a Berber family. Lunch in Hotel DIAR EL BABAR 4* in MATMATA or at the Typical STAR WARS HOTEL: SIDI DRISS in MATMATA. Continue to Djerba Island. Dinner & overnight at HOTEL RADISSON DJERBA or TUI BLUE PALM BEACH OR ROYAL GARDEN DAR DHIAFA GUEST HOUSE OR DRA BIBINE GUEST HOUSE, OR ROYA.
Morning after breakfast, visit to Djerba island. Visit Houmt Souk with its souks and squares. A brief stop at the handicraft and pottery village of Guellala. Leave for Sfax via Gabes. Stop in GABES and visit the spicy markets. Lunch in the way. Continue to Sfax and panoramic tour (if time allows). Check-in, dinner and overnight at BORJ DHIAFA HOTEL or RADISSON HOTEL in SFAX.
Morning after breakfast, depart for El Jem to see the imposing Roman amphitheatre dating back some 1,700 years and one of the best preserved ruins in the country. Stop in Monastir to visit the Ribat. Menu Lunch in MONASTIR (Good restaurant ) or in Sousse. Afternoon visit Sousse and its Medina and Port El Kantaoui. Departure to Hammamet, check in, dinner, and overnight at LA BADIRA HOTEL or ROYAL AZUR HOTEL or RADISSON BLU HOTEL, OR TUI BLUE OCEANA HOTEL in Hammamet.
Transfer to Tunis Airport for your flight home.
