Scandinavian Capitals – Denmark, Norway, Sweden & Finland

( 5 Star )
This eco-conscious journey explores four of the Nordic capitals—Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm, and Helsinki—by train and overnight ferries. The itinerary highlights the history, culture, and charm of Scandinavia’s most iconic cities, offering a sustainable and comfortable way to experience the region.

Arrival in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark. This historic city features medieval streets, centuries-old canals, and a royal legacy stretching back over a thousand years. Accommodation for two nights is provided in a centrally located hotel.

Day at leisure to explore Copenhagen. A walking tour focused on the Danish concept of Hygge is highly recommended for those interested in Danish lifestyle and culture.

The morning is free for further sightseeing. A canal boat tour is a popular way to view the Danish capital from the water. In the late afternoon, departure is by overnight ferry to Oslo. Accommodation is in a 2-berth private outside cabin aboard DFDS Seaways.

Arrival in Oslo in the morning. The capital of Norway is located at the head of the Oslofjord and is surrounded by forested hills. Recommended sights include the Oslo Opera House, Vigeland Sculpture Park, the Viking Ship Museum, and the Munch Museum. A sightseeing boat tour along the Oslofjord can be arranged in the afternoon. Two nights of accommodation are provided in the city centre.

Day at leisure. For those wishing to explore the city actively, a guided bike tour is recommended, covering key highlights in a relaxed and enjoyable way.

Departure from Oslo by train to Stockholm. The Swedish capital is built across 14 islands and blends historic charm with modern design. Just outside the city lies an archipelago of over 24,000 islands. Sights of interest include the Vasa Museum, Skansen Open Air Museum, City Hall, and the Old Town (Gamla Stan). Three nights of accommodation are arranged in the city centre.

A day at leisure in Stockholm. A guided food walk is recommended to discover Sweden’s culinary scene, featuring tastings at specially selected locations alongside cultural and historical insights.

Another day to explore Stockholm. A kayaking tour offers a unique perspective of the city from the water and is ideal for those seeking an active experience.

Departure by overnight ferry from Stockholm to Helsinki in the late afternoon. Accommodation is provided in a 2-berth private outside cabin on board Silja Line.

Arrival in Helsinki in the morning. After breakfast on board, the Finnish capital can be explored on foot. Highlights include Senate Square, the Presidential Palace, City Hall, Market Square, Uspenski Cathedral, the Esplanade Park, the Parliament, Kiasma Museum of Contemporary Art, and Temppeliaukio Church (Rock Church). Two nights of accommodation are arranged in the city centre.
