The colonial city of Granada was founded in 1524 by Francisco Hernández de Córdoba on the southwestern shore of Lake Nicaragua, is practically the first continental European city in America. Unlike other cities that claim the same distinction, the city of Granada was not only the settlement of the conquest, but also a city registered in official records of the Crown of Aragon and the Kingdom of Castile in Spain. The city has a rich colonial heritage, an impressive history and culture and considered today in the capital of tourism in Nicaragua.
Upon arrival at the airport in Managua, the country’s capital city you will be met by our driver who will accompany you to the hotel in Granada, the colonial city located at the southwestern shore of Lake Nicaragua Overnight in Granada
Breakfast at the hotel. Discover the Spanish-colonial city of Granada, the third-oldest city in the Americas founded by Spanish captain Francisco Hernandez de Cordoba in 1524. Stopover at Doña Elba Cigars a small, family owned factory founded by the first cigar master in Granada Mr. Silvio Reyes since 1991. Explore the City; Colonial Churches and the famous La Calzada Street. Enjoy free time at the Central Park. Ending our tour enjoying a boat trip throughout the lush and romantic islets of Lake Nicaragua. Overnight in Granada.
Breakfast at the hotel. Explore the Masaya Volcano National Park and have a great time shopping for souvenirs at the city of Masaya, the handicrafts capitals of Nicaragua. This half day tour includes a visit to the Masaya Volcano, the first and largest national park establish in Nicaragua since 1979. This volcanically complex has an area of 54 km² includes two volcanoes and five craters having an elevation of 635 meters about sea level. This geological formation is part of the Quaternary volcanic range and its today, the only volcano in the western hemisphere where you are able to drive to the rim. Next, enjoy free time shopping for souvenirs at the city of Masaya including a visit to the famous hummocks factory and to the handicrafts market. Overnight in Granada
