Family Christmas, Apukka 5 days

Visit: Rovaniemi – Apukka Resort
Welcome to the country that has declared itself to be the official hometown of Joulupukki - Santa Claus! High above the Arctic Circle, you find his official residence where you can visit him and his elves all year round. On Christmas Day, however, Santa is a busy man and brings presents to children all across the country. In the meantime, Finns enjoy the day by decorating the Christmas tree and by taking a traditional Christmas sauna. It's traditional to have porridge with a hidden almond inside. The person who gets it is considered to be the luckiest one on the table - and has to sing a song. Traditionally, Finns serve Christmas ham, rosolli salad (beetroot), and joulutorttu (pastries) for Christmas dinner. Hyvää Joulua!

Accommodation and dinner at Apukka Resort. (3 nights)
Enjoy your breakfast leisurely and get ready for the magical, joyful activities, where all the top things-to-do are wrapped up for you, and most of all – you’ll get to greet the Grand Old Man himself in a very cozy and intimate seeing. You have been kind, haven’t you?
Today, you have a very special chance to make a sneak peek to one of the Santa’s hideaway places, situated in the surroundings of Apukka Resort. Let’s tiptoe like a real elf, carrying no other light than a candle lantern, and enter along the snowy path to Santa’s Secret Hut. There, he will greet us with the warmest smile and every family, couple or party have their own private time to chat with Him around the open fire. All children will get a small gift.
But, it’s not only Santa, that we are going to meet. As we are today part of the joyful group of Santa’s Little Helpers, we need to find out, what is it all about of being an Elf.
First, Santa’s Helpers need to know many ways of transportation in Lapland, and therefore, we also need to train our skills and experience on: Reindeer sledge, Husky ride, Snowmobiling (and mini snowmobiling for kids)
Also, we need to feed Rudolf and his friends, so that they are strong enough to start the long journey around the world. And Santa & Ms. Santa have also asked our help to complete the decorations for Christmas.
But after all, to have Fun, that’s the most important task of an Elf and that’s what we will also do with tobogganing, ice sculpting, skiing, etc.
And, after a cheery day, it time to enjoy tasty lunch at the restaurant.
In the evening, it’s time to go to winter wonderland in a warm carriage of our famous Snowtrain. We head out in the wilderness, far from artificial lights, looking for the Northern Lights. We cross the beautiful snowy landscape to reach a traditional, Lappish “kota”; a hut deep in the wilderness. We gather around the blazing bonfire, to enjoy sausages and hot drinks. Our aurora expert will help you with camera settings to best capture the Northern Lights. This excursion is completely focused on the Northern Lights, but you also get to experience the beauty of the pure, snowy forest, darkness, quietness. As the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon, nobody can give a 100% guarantee to see them, but this trip presents an excellent chance
Festive dinners will be serviced on both days.
On Christmas Eve we taste the traditional Finnish Christmas Festive buffet and enjoy of traditional Christmassy program during the dinner.
On Christmas Day, it’s time for international Christmas Festive meal and, the program during the evening will fit the international theme.
For both dinners, wine package is included in the menu. For children, we serve soft drinks.
