Itinerary
Arrival in Svolvær, the starting point of the self-drive journey. After collecting the rental car, drive to a centrally located 3-star hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure. Accommodation in Svolvær.

After breakfast, drive to the Lofotr Viking Museum in Borg. Visit the world’s longest reconstructed longhouse and experience life as it was over 1,000 years ago. Explore the feast hall, barn, and interactive exhibitions, all set against the dramatic backdrop of the Lofoten Islands. Accommodation in Svolvær.

Breakfast at the hotel. Today, a scenic drive through the Lofoten archipelago leads to the village of Reine. Overnight in a traditional Norwegian rorbu by the water. Accommodation in Reine.

After breakfast, board the ferry to Bodø. Continue south by car to Yttervik, located near Mo i Rana. Spend the night in a cosy cabin with a kitchenette and a view over the Ranfjord. Optional visits to the Marmor Slottet or the science centre in Mo i Rana. Accommodation in Yttervik.

Prepare breakfast in the cabin before continuing the drive south through national parks, rivers, and fjords towards Trondheim, Norway’s third-largest city. Accommodation in a 3-star hotel in Trondheim for two nights.

After breakfast, drive to Nordfjordeid and visit the Sagastad Viking Centre, home to the reconstructed Myklebust ship – one of the largest Viking ships ever found in Norway. Return to Fosnavåg for the night. Accommodation in Fosnavåg.
